“God made homosexuals, so he must love them. I love them too.”
The incredibly beautiful Sophia Loren is 88 today (September 20). Still very vital after a long career decorated with two Oscars (one competitive, one honorary), a tax evasion scandal that sent her to prison for 18 days in 1981 and a successful range of name branded sunglasses, Loren has lived in Geneva since 2006 and acts only sporadically now, appearing in Nine (2009) and voicing the character of Mama Topolino in Cars 2 for non-English speaking countries.
Married to Carlo Ponti from 1957 until his death in 2007 (“I will never marry again. It would be impossible to love anybody else,” she has said) the had two dashing sons, Carlo and Edoardo:
Loren was all set to play the role of Alexis in Dynasty but turned it down at the last moment, thus gifting Joan Collins a career.
