Bathhouse Betty
Bette Midler started out as the live entertainment at the legendary Continental Baths, which were located in the basement of the Ansonia Hotel. Visits to the baths included unlimited use of on-tap lice killing shampoo and a rotation of acts that included Midler (who was often accompanied on piano by Barry Manilow), the Pointer Sisters and Natalie Cole.
